US Senate rejects budget proposals and maintains government stoppage

The Senate of the Senate again rejected two budget proposals that would end the US government’s stoppage, in voting in the afternoon of Friday, 3. The failure of the projects should ensure the maintenance of Shutdown at least until next week.

As had happened on Wednesday, Republicans blocked a democratic funding proposal that would guarantee some of requirements.

Shortly thereafter, it was the opposition that toppled a project of the Government Party. Both have less than the 60 votes required for approval.

Democrats are requiring Congress to extend health benefits, while Republicans try to exhaust them with the daily vote of the House-approved bill that would reopen the government temporarily, especially at current spending levels.
