“I spare more than € 40,000 per year”: Emigrant reveals the profession and the European country where he got this life

Neither France nor Luxembourg: This country where thousands of Portuguese live is the one in which you earn the most in Europe

In a context where many young people face low wages, precarious contracts and difficulties in reaching the end of the month, there are those looking for beyond border alternatives. Emigration remains a frequent response, especially for those who want financial stability. And that is what made a Spanish emigrant, who moved to another European country and today sharing social networks as he managed to save over 40,000 euros in a year, according to the digital news newspaper Work.

A Spanish physiotherapist, under 25, decided to emigrate to Switzerland. In the Tiktok account you created, called @firstepswiss, where you add more than 21,000 followers, share tips and experiences to other health professionals who ponde to the same step.

How much does it cost to live in Switzerland

In one of the publications, the young man revealed in detail the expenses he faces every month. It explains that it pays about 800 Swiss francs (approximately 856 euros) for a room in a shared house.

In food, he says spending 300 francs per month, the equivalent of about 321 euros. Compulsory health insurance in the country represents an expense of 175 francs (about 187 euros), according to the same source.

Fixed and unforeseen expenses

The emigrant also indicates that it allocates about 100 francs (around 107 euros) for transportation and other everyday spending. In leisure, calculates spending 400 monthly francs (about 428 euros). Throughout the year, it also has 2,000 francs (around 2,140 euros) on airway trips and reserves 3,000 francs (about 3,211 euros) for unforeseen expenses such as fines or incidents.

In total, it estimates that these expenses correspond to about 26,300 annual francs (about 28,151 euros), a value that considers generable to the salary that earns in the alpine country.

A hard salary to believe

According to reports, his annual salary, not counting Bonus, surrounds the 65,000 francs (approximately 69,575 euros), distributed for 13 months of payment. “I know many won’t believe it, but that’s what I get,” he says in the video.

According to this, this value is aligned with the average physical therapist salary in Switzerland, which surrounds the 69,500 euros per year, or more than 5,300 euros per month.

Savings after a year

After discounting all expenses, the young man guarantees that he can save about 38,700 francs annually, equivalent to more than 41,000 euros. An amount that, as highlighted, corresponds practically to the necessary value for the entry of a house in Spain.

Lessons for other young people

The emigrant stresses that, despite the high cost of living in this European country, wages allow not only to cover essential expenses but also to ensure a significant margin of savings. His testimony has become viral, precisely because it contrasts with the reality experienced by thousands of young people in southern Europe, where access to housing and financial stability remains a challenge.
