Establishment is located in Bela Vista, central region of the capital of São Paulo; Military Police denied that the accident was caused by a gas explosion
The collapse of the mezzanine of the chef’s Jamile restaurant left one person dead and five others injured. The information was updated by the Fire Department around 3 pm this Wednesday (8). The establishment is located at Rua 13 de Maio, 647, in Bela Vista, central region of .
Initially, the Fire Department said that preliminary information indicated a gas explosion followed by a collapse. However, around 2 pm, the Military Police updated the information, saying that it was not an explosion but that the mezzanine had collapsed.
According to the Public Security Secretariat, Military Police teams, including territorial policing and the Fire Department, are on site providing aid to victims and offering assistance to family members and others present.

In a statement, the chef’s advisor states that his work at Jamile is “restricted to the creation and signature of the restaurant’s menu, without involvement in the administrative or operational management of the establishment”.
The presenter is the owner of Sal Gastronomia, which has two units in the capital of São Paulo. One located in Bela Cintra, and the second located in Shopping Cidade Jardim, in Morumbi.
He is also responsible for the gastropub Cão Véio, which has 5 units located in the neighborhoods of Vila Mariana, Vila Madalena and Tatuapé in São Paulo, and in the cities of Curitiba and Alphaville.
