The US will send 200 soldiers to Gaza to monitor the agreement between Israel and Hamas
The US military will send 200 soldiers to Gaza to join humanitarian monitoring tasks within the framework of the implementation of the first phase of the peace agreement with Hamas.
According to the United States Central Command, the troops sent will establish a “civil-military coordination center” in Israeli and Palestinian territory.
The troops will work together with soldiers from other countries such as Egypt, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates as part of agreed support for the agreement signed this Wednesday. Admiral Bradley Cooper will be the officer in charge of the troops whose objective is to guarantee security compliance and observe the actions of local forces.
The military sources added that this deployment in the Middle East has been practiced with the troops in recent months and they assure that the security plans that will be developed will be shared with the Israeli authorities. (Efe)
