The solidarity supplement for the elderly according to the State Budget proposal for 2026. The reference value for this supplement is now €670. The increase is received as good news, but some say it is just “an adjustment” given the increase in the cost of living.

“What we were offered, let’s say, is just the update of the inflation rate, it is not considered an increase per se. It would only be an increase if it was above inflation”, stated Joaquim.

The Government winks at pensioners, hoping to clean up the recent past, but the truth is that suspicion of an improvement at the end of the month still prevails.
