Bluetongue disease is rampant in 116 Upper Austrian companies

Linz – 116 companies with confirmed cases of bluetongue are currently registered in Upper Austria. These include predominantly unvaccinated animals that show symptoms of illness as well as incidental findings during routine examinations. While initially mainly sheep were affected in September, clinical cases are now also occurring in isolated cases in cattle, reported State Councilor Michaela Langer-Weninger (ÖVP).
