Lobato explained that Manaus has been celebrating the city’s anniversary with a series of activities, starting with the traditional Feirinha do Tururi, considered the “warm-up”, and passing through national attractions, such as Klessinha and Nadson. The big closing of the event is the Boi Manaus. “Here in Manaus, we have a maxim: everything ends in Boi Bumbá”, joked the president of ManausCult.

Boi Manaus, which is already a fixed event on the city’s calendar and is about to turn 30 years old, underwent a major reorganization and was once again held at the Sambadrome. In addition to filling the place with people and guaranteeing a quality party, Lobato highlighted that the event also boosts the creative economy: street vendors participate in both external and internal areas, driving local commerce.
“We have a party with a megastructure: sound, lighting, stage, scenography, but, at the same time, all the vendors are included,” said Lobato. As a true supporter of culture, he highlighted that his greatest satisfaction is being able to make the economy grow together with the appreciation of cultural traditions, ending the interview by singing “congratulations” to Manaus.
