The piece premiered as part of the Vienna Festival Weeks The Pelicot Trial by Milo Rau and Servane Dècle has been uninvited by the renowned Bitef theater festival in Serbia. According to a release, this decision comes from the board of the Belgrade International Theater Festival (Bitef). The artistic management team sees this as a “precedent”. There has never been a comparable case in the festival’s 59-year history.
