According to Andreas Huss, chairman of the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK), the elective doctor’s fee may in future not be more than two and a half times the health insurance provider’s rate. Huss is generally considered an opponent of the elective coordination model – three years ago he advocated dismantling the system completely and awarding health insurance contracts instead.
