Councilor João Keleu, from Cruzeiro do Sul (AC), released a public note this Thursday (30) about the arrest of his son, amateur boxer Douglas Fernandes, during Operation Centúria, launched by the Civil Police of Acre. The young man is suspected of involvement in a criminal organization and drug trafficking.
The police action, carried out in partnership with the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (GAECO) of the Public Ministry of Acre (MPAC), resulted in the arrest of 12 people. Investigations point to the actions of a structured faction involved in crimes such as drug trafficking, robberies, homicides and hiding a body.

The parliamentarian reinforced that he does not condone any illegal conduct and stated that he maintains full confidence in the justice system and the institutions responsible for the investigation.
“It is a painful moment, which shakes any family. However, I am convinced that each person must answer for their own actions and that the truth always prevails. As a councilor and public man, I reaffirm that I have never condoned, nor do I condone, anything that goes against the law or the values that I have always defended”, declared the councilor.
Keleu ended the note by asking for respect for the family moment and reaffirming his commitment to serious and transparent work in favor of the population of Cruzeiro do Sul.
