In a video shared on social media this Saturday (1), the president of Brazil, (PT), refuted the lack of infrastructure to host the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), and assured that the city will not be the same after the event. “Who would have imagined not long ago that a transatlantic liner, carrying 100,000 passengers, would come here? Nobody. We are showing that it is possible. The people who didn’t want us to bring the COP to the North of the country, because there was no structure, the structure is here. When there is a political willingness to do things, things happen”, declared the president.

COP30 will be held between November 10th and 21st, preceded by the Leaders’ Summit call on November 6th and 7th. The international meeting brings together heads of state from dozens of countries, ministers and leaders of international organizations, and the presence of more than 40 thousand people is expected, according to government estimates. Lula participated this Saturday in the delivery of works to requalify the so-called Port of Outeiro and the expansion and modernization of Belém International Airport.
