It has been three years and a good eight months since Russia invaded Ukraine. Shortly afterwards, gas and electricity prices skyrocketed to unprecedented heights, with the result that electricity generating companies earned more than ever before. This extra income due to the special circumstances, referred to in political discussions as excess profits, still causes heated debate. Now the Momentum Institute is making people sit up and take notice with a suggestion. A water rate based on the Swiss model is needed. This could create more justice in the world of electricity.
