A 27-year-old man, identified as Wendel Martins Vieira, known as “Wendel Mac”, was arrested last Thursday (30) in the rural area of Exu, a municipality in the interior of Pernambuco, approximately 620 kilometers from Recife. He is appointed by the police as leader of the in Ceará. The arrest was the result of a joint operation between the civil police of Ceará and Pernambuco, with the aim of serving an arrest warrant against the suspect, who was being investigated for homicide and integration into a criminal organization.
According to information from Diário do Nordeste, Wendel Mac held a leadership role in the faction in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza, coordinating the criminal group’s actions with other states. He already has a record of drug trafficking, association for drug trafficking, homicide and other crimes, according to the Ceará Civil Police.
The person being investigated is also identified as being involved in an armed attack that occurred in November 2024, in Fortaleza, which left one person dead and three injured. During the approach, agents found portions of marijuana on the suspect, which resulted in him being arrested for drug trafficking. The police, however, did not detail the quantity seized. After being detained, Wendel Vieira was sent to a custody hearing and remains at the disposal of the Court.
