This is because contaminated brushes, sponges and toothbrushes are a real breeding ground for bacteria. Every day they accumulate cosmetic residues, as well as sebum, dust and dead skin cells. Washing our makeup accessories should become part of our everyday life. Sponges are best after each use, because we apply cosmetics in liquid form with them. In turn, we must clean our brushes at least once a week. The exception are brushes used for foundation or liquid blush, because they need to be cleaned much more often.
Wanting to do this we need to apply a small amount of antibacterial soap or mild shampoo to the damp brush bristles. Gently massage the product into the bristles and rinse under running water, avoiding wetting the brush handle.
