In the parish of Albufeira and Olhos de Água, the Caliços Municipal Market hosts the “Bairro em Festa” event from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with roasted chestnuts, face painting and activities for the whole family. Valter Cabrita and the Grupo Coral da Casa do Alentejo in Albufeira perform on stage, promising to entertain participants for many moments of dance.
In Guia, the traditional magusto takes place at the Municipal Market from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a display of local wines, an offer of chestnuts and live music with Roberto Bernardino.
In Ferreiras, the party starts at 5:00 pm, in Largo da Nora, with the show “Variações – Tributo a António Variações” followed by music to dance with Emanuel & Tânia. Snacks and regional sweets are available at the Futebol Clube de Ferreiras taverns.
According to tradition, Saint Martin’s Day celebrates the act of solidarity of Martin of Tours, who shared his cloak with a beggar on a cold November day, giving rise to the legend of “Saint Martin’s Summer”. This date symbolizes solidarity, friendship and sharing, and is widely celebrated in Portugal.
It invites everyone to celebrate this popular tradition, with free entry to events organized in all parishes in the municipality.
