Moderators Lenka Šóošová (49) and Roman Juraško (46) have made waking up in the morning pleasant for Markíza viewers for more than 19 years. They were the longest broadcasting stable presenter pair on Slovak screens. However, at the end of May 2024, they decided to say goodbye to this project. Lenka ended completely, Roman strengthened Reflex magazine. In an interview for now Šóošová spoke openly about the difficult end on TV Markíza.
According to her words it wasn’t an overnight decision, but the idea had been brewing in her for two years. “There are many reasons why I made my decision. It was a very difficult decision for me because My child, my identity was televised. You can’t just let it go. And I admit that I really cried,” she explained and continued.
“Even my husband told me: ‘Lenka, you have to make a decision, I can’t tell you to go away, because it makes you feel bad.’ Because it really started to make me sick. It’s like a toxic relationship where you know you love each other, but at some point it just has to end.” she said.
“It was a very difficult decision for me and I still have mixed emotions, but it didn’t take a month, but two years. There are people who work at night or go to work early in the morning. But I think that when you have a pleasant environment and a supportive team, you can handle getting up at three in the morning. And when the surroundings and the underbelly are already not in order, it becomes more difficult for you to get up. I might still be able to do it (getting up), I don’t know, but I wasn’t feeling well there anymore. That’s interpersonal relations, it’s in every job. And there are situations that you are less able to handle and you say to yourself that enough is enough,” added the presenter.
Šoošová never hid the fact that she wanted to do Teleráno and had no other ambition. According to her, in the morning session you will smell the most, taste the most, meet interesting people, and she thinks that it is a very underestimated program, but one that has huge potential. After a while, she also realized that Teleráno was timeless.
In more than a year, many famous faces left Markíza, especially from the news, which she is very sorry for, and at that time she was also dealing with her departure from television. “When these things started happening, I was simultaneously dealing with my departure, which was very difficult for me. I tried to focus on myself, but of course I felt it and was extremely sorry. And I’m actually sorry to this day, because I think that TV Markíza lost very high-quality people,” she finished.
