At least 11 people were hospitalized on Saturday after a suspected explosion on a boat near the American city of Miami. The cause is still unknown, TASR reports, according to AP and NBC News reports.

The Miami-Dade County Fire Department said shortly after 12:30 p.m. local time (6:30 p.m. CEST) 25 units responded to reports of a possible vessel explosion near Haulover Sandbar, a shallow boating area known for partying. The American station CBS News reports that according to witnesses, the ship was quickly engulfed in flames after the explosion.
After arriving at the scene of the incident, rescuers discovered several injured persons, while 11 people were transported to nearby hospitals. Their state of health is still unknown. NBC News claims that there are up to 15 people in hospitals after this supposed explosion. The incident is currently under investigation.
