Trump says he has an obligation to sue the BBC after scandal

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated on Monday (11) that he has an “obligation” to sue the BBC for “distorting his speech” before the January 6, 2021 attacks on the American Capitol.

“Well, I think I have an obligation to do this,” Trump told Fox News host Laura Ingraham in an interview on “The Ingraham Angle.”

The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) plunged into its biggest crisis in decades after director-general Tim Davie and head of journalism Deborah Turness, as a result of criticism of the broadcaster’s standards and accusations of bias, including in relation to the editing of a speech by the American president.

“They actually changed my January 6th speech, which was a beautiful, very calm speech. And they completely altered it. What they did was unbelievable. They showed me the results afterwards, the result of what they did, how they misrepresented it. It was very dishonest. And the boss resigned, as did many other people,” Trump continued.

Ingraham also asked Trump about H-1B visa workers and whether he wouldn’t “flood the country with tens or hundreds of thousands of foreign workers.” The leader replied: “I agree, but you need to bring talent.”

The journalist replied: “We have a lot of talented people here.” Trump said, “No, you don’t have certain talents and people need to learn. You can’t take people off the unemployment line and say, ‘I’m going to put them in a factory where we’re going to make missiles.'”
