According to the agent, the decision not to try to continue at the club after the end of the current term was due to personal reasons. It is worth remembering that Mota had said the same before the last election and went back on it.

It’s a personal achievement, and I think I was able to contribute a lot, I leave a legacy not only of achievements, but of works , the club is now respected in Brazil, in the world. I think, modestly, I did a great job in these three years. But it’s a job that exhausts you physically. my family. I have family projects and personal projects that I think are incompatible with being president of Vitória”, he said.

Fábio Mota took over Vitória at the end of 2021, on an interim basis. He was at the head of the club in the 2022 Series C dispute, when, even with a 2% chance, he gained access. With the good result, he was elected for his first official term, with 66.4% of the votes. The following year, he led Leão to its first national championship title in history, with the Série B cup. In the current season, he managed to qualify the red-black team for the Copa Sudamericana. In addition, the SAF process began, which should be completed in April.
