Wind, cold (-6 ºC) and some rain this week in Portugal

Almost clear skies to start the week. But it won’t always be like this – and winter is almost here.

Mainland Portugal started this week with clear skies, or with few clouds, in almost the entire territory. But it won’t always be like this.

The temperature has already started to drop and will continue to drop, especially until Wednesday. And it’s supposed to rain in some places.

O vento will also make itself felt. For today, Monday, gusts exceeding 50 km/h were expected in the mountainous regions of the Center, warns the .

In relation to rain, Sagres is expected to record precipitation on Wednesday. It is also expected that it will rain next Friday in Lisbon and in several municipalities close to the capital and Setúbal.

But what will be noticed most – or already noticed – is the cold.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, and looking only at the district capitals, Bragança and Viseu should reach -3 ºC, while Guarda will also be below zero (-1 ºC).

And much of the coast is not far above: Leiria or Sines with a minimum temperature of 3 degrees, Porto with 4 degrees or Aveiro and Setúbal with 5 degrees.

On Wednesday, Guarda can drop to -4 ºC and in Serra da Estrela the minimum will be -6 ºC and the maximum -1 ºC, indicates the website of the – Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera.

The islands are once again exceptions. In Funchal, for example, temperatures should never drop below 14 degrees until the weekend. Similar scenario in Ponta Delgada, where it is expected to rain from Wednesday.
