Joiner is shot dead inside his house in Baixada da Sobral; police investigate crime

Joiner Wemerson Gonçalves de Souza, 39 years old, had his house invaded and was shot in the head on Monday night (9), on Rua 26 de Setembro, in the Baixada da Sobral region, in Rio Branco.

According to information from witnesses, a heavily armed criminal jumped the wall of the residence, broke into the house and surprised the victim, who was sitting in a chair with a plate of food on the table. The criminal approached and fired two shots. One of them hit the victim’s head, who could not resist and died before receiving medical attention. The other shot hit the wall of the house. After the criminal action, the killer jumped over the wall again and fled down a nearby alley.

The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) sent an advanced support ambulance to provide first care, but, upon arriving at the scene, rescuers only found Wemerson dead.

Military police isolated the area and requested the presence of forensic experts and autopsy assistants from the Legal Medical Institute (IML). After the expert work, the body was sent to the IML for cadaveric examinations.

According to the police, Wemerson previously lived in the Belo Jardim neighborhood and recently moved to Baixada da Sobral. He also works as a carpenter. Civil Police agents from the Ready Employment Team (EPE) collected the first information, and the case will be investigated by the Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP).
