Members of the Hungarian Parliament approved the 14th pension at an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday. This benefit will be integrated into the pension system in a similar way to the renewal of the 13th pension, i.e. gradually, magyarnemzet.hu writes, the TASR correspondent in Budapest reports.
Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén presented a proposal to the parliament on November 17.
Gradual introduction of pension
According to the government’s decision of November 13, the 14th pension will be introduced gradually and the full amount will be paid only in 2030. In the first year of payment (2026), it will reach 25 percent of the monthly pension, i.e. the amount corresponding to one week.
The government party Fidesz initiated the accelerated discussion of this proposal in the parliament.
