O actor Marcos Pitombo made a report and claimed to be another artist victim of chases by a stalker inside and outside social networks. The revelation was made on the actor’s own Instagram when commenting on the news of a man’s arrest, on Tuesday (16), in Rio de Janeiro, who pursued actress Isis Valverde for more than 20 years.
I am also chased by a stalker; with whom I have never had any type of contact or previous relationship, for over a year. This person follows my routine, the places I frequent, embarrasses my friends virtually and, worse, stalks me in the theaters where I perform. Threatens me at my workplace.
Pitombo further explained that he has already filed complaints against the man who is persecuting him. He says he filed a police report and that the Public Prosecutor’s Office has already applied protective measures against the stalker. However, the criminal continues to embarrass and threaten people close to the actor.
“It’s good that the Court has addressed this issue energetically, imposing limits on people who disregard basic principles of consent and common sense,” he said.
On Instagram, Pitombo shared some of the messages he receives from the man. Several of them have sexual content. Others, are a threat.
In a video, also published by the artist, he shows a moment in which he encounters the stalker on the street. In the recording, Pitombo says: “You are stalking me, this is a crime.” See messages and video below:
A CNN Brazil contacted the Rio Civil Police to find out about possible investigations into Pitombo’s case and is awaiting feedback.
Isis Valverde Case
A man suspected of stalking and intimidating actress Isis Valverde more than 20 years ago he was arrested, this Tuesday (16), for Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro. The action was carried out by agents from the DAS (Anti-kidnapping Police Station) who located the individual inside her condominium in Joá, west of Rio.
O stalker confessedin testimony to the police, have hired a private detective to obtain personal information about the artist. He said he was hired to obtain data such as telephone and address. Furthermore, he reported several approaches attempts in different locations.
According to investigations, since the beginning of the year, he had adopted a obsessive behavior.
Arrest after 3rd contact attempt
The capture, carried out by agents from Das (Anti-kidnapping Police Station), occurred when the man had returned to the actress’ address. This was already the third attempt direct contact with Isis Valverde.
Due to the suspicions and behavior, the police were called immediately, set up a tactical siege and located the suspect, who was arrested in the act for the crime of persecution. His name was not released.

In a statement sent by the press office to CNN Brazil, Isis Valverde thanked the police for the arrest of the individual.
I was informed about the arrest of a man who had been stalking me for years. I thank the authorities for their work, especially the Anti-Kidnapping Police Station (DAS), for their quick intervention. My priority is the safety of my family and everyone around me.
