Images reminiscent of the September 11, 2001 attacks were broadcast today on local media in China.
An explosion in the city of Shenzhen resulted in a fire and according to reports a woman died, as she fell from the burning building.
According to state media, the preliminary investigation showed that the fire was caused by a gas explosion on the 28th floor of the building, while the exact cause of the explosion is still being investigated.
A powerful rocked a residence in Bay’s Yuefu Phase II on Dec 11, with shockwaves reportedly felt as far as the nearby landmark Resources Tower. Cause and injuries remain unclear, and investigations are underway.

“Suddenly there was a loud bang and the table shook,” a 30-year-old man surnamed Zhang who worked in a nearby office building told Reuters.
