The epicenter of the earthquake was located about 300 kilometers east of Caracasthe capital of the country, in the municipality of Montalbán, Carabobo state, in the central region of Venezuela. The earthquake had a depth of 13.2 kilometersso it was classified as a superficial earthquake, according to information from the USGS.
The last similar earthquake that occurred in Venezuela was in 2018, with a magnitude of 7.3 in the state of Sucre and affected at least ten countries in the region, including Brazil, Guyana and several Caribbean islands.
