After meeting with Lula, Haddad says he will define a ticket on Thursday

PT pre-candidate for the government of São Paulo states that Márcio França, Simone Tebet and Marina Silva made themselves available to fill the vice position

The PT pre-candidate for the government of São Paulo, , signaled that he will define the composition of his ticket on Thursday (June 25, 2026). In no X, this Wednesday (June 24), he said that the former ministers (PSB), (Rede) and (PSB) made themselves available for the vice and Senate vacancies.

Haddad spoke about the topic afterwards with the president (PT) and the vice-president (PSB), at Palácio da Alvorada, to discuss the formation of the platform in São Paulo. Here is the message:

“In a meeting with President Lula and Vice-President Alckmin, Marina, Simone and Márcio made themselves available to run for vice-governor or for the senate, leaving the choice of candidate to my discretion. I feel honored by the trust of these three ministerial colleagues and I have committed to formalizing the invitation by tomorrow”he wrote.

There is an impasse over who will be the candidate for vice president and who will fill the two Senate vacancies on the PT ticket. França, Marina and Tebet present themselves as names to contest the election for the Upper House.

At this moment, the vice-president vacancy is between the former governor of São Paulo and the former minister of the Environment, with slight favoritism for France. Last week, the São Paulo PSB launched him as a pre-candidate for government.

The thesis is that his presence in the dispute increases the possibility that the state election will not be defined in the 1st round. PT São Paulo rejected the possibility.

The governor (Republicans) will run for re-election and leads the polls. O deputy (Missão-SP) and the former mayor of Santo André (SP), (PSDB), withdrew from running for office.
