Master: judge requests list of information denied by BRB – 12/29/2025 – Panel

The TJDFT (Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories) asked district deputy Fábio Félix (PSOL) to present the list of information denied by the BRB (Bank of Brasília) to the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District before the —later blocked by the .

The deputy asked BRB, for example, for a complete description of the operation, in addition to objective information, such as the existence or not of a “formal acquisition proposal by Banco Master” and on what date.

Even though it was , BRB sent a document of just two pages with generic answers.

The bank said that the information requested “regards a strategic process of a competitive nature in the banking sector” and that disclosure “would compromise the strategic positioning and competitiveness of the institution”.

With the refusal, the district went to court. In the decision signed on December 10, judge Carlos Eduardo Batista dos Santos now asks the parliamentarian to present the list of required data to the bank for further evaluation.

In a statement, BRB said that it “reaffirms its commitment to transparency and clarifies that it has complied with all legal decisions.”

In one of the few responses sent to Félix, BRB said that the purchase of Master would create “a robust, modern and complete prudential conglomerate” and that the bank specialized in “wholesale, foreign exchange and capital markets”.

“Benefits for BRB and the Federal District: expands revenue, customer base and diversifies products; increases dividend potential for GDF [Governo do Distrito Federal]; projects BRB as a national, competitive and public bank”, said BRB in the letter dated March 13.
