Brazil turned the year around in a festive atmosphere, with lights and crowds gathered to celebrate the arrival of 2026. From north to south, the new year was marked by shows, fireworks and meetings that took to the streets.

On Tuesday (12/30), Rio received the title of the biggest New Year’s Eve in the world, according to the Guinness Book. Check out the full broadcast of the fireworks display in Rio de Janeiro:

This year, the pyrotechnic show was led by French scenographer Christophe Berthonneau, who has already been responsible for fireworks at international events such as the Olympic Games.

In addition to the fireworks, the event in the capital of Rio de Janeiro also featured an unprecedented drone show.

In São Paulo, the city once again became the stage for one of the biggest urban New Year’s Eve celebrations in Brazil. Thousands of people occupied the road to watch the countdown, the musical shows and the fireworks display that lit up the sky and buildings in the central region of the capital.

Artists from different musical genres took the stage, such as Padre Marcelo Rossi, João Gomes, Ana Castela and Latino.
