One of the most talked about moments of the night was the unprecedented presentation of 1,200 drones, considered the largest ever held at events of this size in Latin America. The air show took place during DJ Alok’s set and transformed the Copacabana sky into a large digital panel, with images such as Christ the Redeemer, symbols of Rio and even the projection of a human face interacting with the public through luminous messages.
The waterfront’s musical program brought together different styles and generations. On Palco Rio, names such as Gilberto Gil and Ney Matogrosso, representatives of MPB, as well as Alcione and Belo, appeared. Piseiro was also highlighted by João Gomes, who shared the stage with Iza, while electronic music was led by Alok, responsible for closing the night. Samba gained its own space on the Samba Stage, with performances by Roberta Sá, Mart’nália, Diogo Nogueira, Feijão and Bloco da Preta, in addition to the participation of the Beija-Flor schools in Nilópolis and Grande Rio. Finally, the gospel audience enjoyed a specific program on the Leme Stage, which brought together artists such as Midian Lima, Samuel Messias, Thalles Roberto and Grupo Marcados.
To ensure the party’s functioning, the city hall set up a large operational scheme, with around 7,500 agents from 11 municipal bodies working in areas such as transport, urban planning, cleaning, security, social assistance and emergency care. Monitoring included 700 cameras, 307 of which were in Copacabana alone.
