He is "lucid and oriented": Lula da Silva transferred to semi-intensive care

Lula da Silva underwent “successful” head surgery on Thursday, after experiencing pain following a fall

The president of Brazil is “lucid and oriented”. Lula da Silva, who underwent several surgeries in recent days, remains hospitalized but has already been transferred to semi-intensive care.

“President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva remains hospitalized at Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in São Paulo, under semi-intensive care. He remains lucid and oriented, ate normally and walked through the corridors”, the hospital said in a statement.

Lula da Silva went head to head on Thursday after experiencing pain as a result of a fall. He underwent an innovative and effective strategy that reduces the risk of new bleeding in cases of patients with chronic subdural hematoma, as is the case, and then spent the night in the ICU.

At the end of the operation, the president’s doctor said that Lula da Silva was “awake and talking”, and, as he explained, the probability of a new hematoma appearing that could cause new concern was 5%.

This was what happened to Lula da Silva in a few days, after it was confirmed that the Brazilian president had a cerebral hemorrhage resulting from a fall at the Palácio da Alvorada around two months ago.

He is expected to leave the hospital next week, when he is also expected to return to full duties.
