The Brazilian women’s team ended the year in 7th place in the FIFA (International Football Federation) ranking, rising one position compared to the previous survey, in August.
The team had ended last year in 11th place, the worst since the beginning of the historical series, in 2003. Brazil’s best place in the FIFA ranking was 2nd, achieved in 2009.
The main result of the team led by Arthur Elias this season was winning the silver medal at the Paris Games, losing the final to the United States. The team also finished second in the Gold Cup, again with a defeat in the final against the North American team.
In total, there were 20 matches for the women’s team in 2024, with 13 wins, 3 draws and 4 defeats.
The United States team ended the year at the top of the rankings, followed by Spain — champion of the women’s World Cup in 2023 — and Germany.
