The artificial nourishment work on Quarteira’s beaches, initially scheduled to take place over approximately eight months, should be completed in just nine weeks, due to the urgency of the intervention. THE
Although work is scheduled to begin this week, no machines are yet visible on the ground. For now, the technical procedures necessary for the operation are only being developed.
The authorities guarantee, however, that the work on the ground will begin in the next few days, as the schedule is tight and the work must be completed before the summer.

A second phase of intervention is also planned, which will involve reinforcing existing sauces. The objective is to stop the force of sea currents and slow down the process of coastal erosion on that coastal front.
