Personnel concerns are causing tourism professionals to call for teaching to become more attractive

Two years of recession and job cuts in many sectors have recently alleviated the personnel problems in tourism somewhat; However, the prospects are anything but rosy when it comes to the availability of skilled workers in the coming years. This is pointed out by the top tourism expert in the Chamber of Commerce (WKO), Susanne Kraus-Winkler. After the government presented its industrial strategy, an apprenticeship strategy is urgently needed. This should come from the industry and must be supported by politics, said Kraus-Winkler, who was previously State Secretary for Tourism, in a press conference.
