Lovers’ horror from the marquee show: Fight for life on vacation! THIS can happen to you too

Kateřina Michelle Ptašinská and Martin Mikuš were brought together by the marquee reality show Love Island. The friendly couple enjoys living together and getting to know new places. Most recently they went to Morocco, which they love for the waves on the beach, the people and the energy. However, a vacation in a foreign country taught them a lesson that almost cost them their lives. One hot shower and a poorly ventilated gas boiler were enough.

Martin pointed out to people that despite all the beauties of Morocco, one must realize that still it is a country in Africa, where some things work differently and often less modern than here. “During our stay, we changed accommodation and moved to another apartment, where we were greeted by this terribly nice gentleman. It’s a shame that guy almost killed us,” he said in the video, which you can find at the end of the article.

“In most accommodation, water heating works as follows: a gas boiler that burns directly in your room and you can either have it in a ventilated shaft, which is the better option, or directly in the kitchen, which is the option we had and which is a little more dangerous. We took a hot shower that night, didn’t ventilate, and in the morning we both woke up with the worst headache we’ve ever had, so we probably had carbon monoxide poisoning.” Martin explained.

Despite the health complications, the couple kept their presence of mind and immediately both went to the hospital. Michelle was probably worse off because they had to give her IVs.

None of them end up having any lasting consequences. “We’re putting it here not to complain, but so you don’t make that mistake. Whether you’re in Africa, Asia, or an old apartment in Europe— ventilate. It’s better to shiver in the cold at night than not to wake up in the morning.” he finished.
