Machado guaranteed that the democratic transition will happen with the support of the world’s main democracies, especially Donald Trump’s administration.
The Venezuelan opponent, Maria Corina Machado, called this Wednesday, after meeting with United States Secretary of State, Mark Rubio, for a “real transition” in Venezuela, after which “nothing remains of the regime in power”.
As I said, after the meeting: “We are working to facilitate a real transition. This is not a Russian transition, where the mafias stay in power.”
This was the answer to a question from journalists about whether she would be willing to enter into a coalition government with the current president, the ‘Chavista’ Delcy Rodríguez.
“I can assure Venezuelans that the transition to democracy will happen, because we have the support of the most important democracies in the world and, most especially, of Donald Trump’s government,” he stated.
Rubio welcomed Machado from the State Department after participating in a Senate hearing on Trump’s Venezuela policy, in which he said the United States is not planning a although I do not exclude it, if Delcy Rodríguez does not cooperate with Washington.
