At the request of the banker’s defense, the minister imposed high secrecy on the investigation, which limited public access to information about the process
Toffoli also determined that investigation measures should be analyzed by the STF
The minister even scheduled a confrontation between those under investigation and authorities, a decision criticized because individual statements had not yet been completed.
Days later, he went back and let the Federal Police decide whether a confrontation of testimonies would be necessary
A luxury resort linked to the minister’s family members had an investment fund linked to Master as a partner
The place frequented by Toffoli, in the interior of Paraná, offers heated swimming pools, kayak tours, beach tennis courts and a casino
A manifesto signed by hundreds of people called for stricter rules of conduct for STF ministers following reports on relations between authorities and people linked to the bank
Toffoli publicly stated that, at the end of the investigations, he will decide whether the case will continue in the STF or be sent to lower courts
