In the case of serious criminal activity committed against minors from August 2024, known as the Slon police action, a final verdict was handed down. As reported by Diana Dudáková Janušíková from the Department of Communication and Prevention of the Presidium of the Police, the court found the defendant guilty of the crime of human trafficking.

“The court imposed on the defendant an unconditional summary sentence of imprisonment in the amount of eight years and eight months, while he was placed in an institution to serve the sentence with a medium level of security,” stated Dudáková Janušíková, adding that he was also placed under protective supervision for a period of one year after serving his sentence. He also ordered him to compensate non-pecuniary damage to two injured minors, each in the amount of 7,500 euros.
The Humenné District Court, in conjunction with the decision of the Prešov Regional Court, made a valid and enforceable decision on September 18, 2025. The defendant was in custody throughout the entire criminal proceedings. “The valid conviction is the result of the systematic work of the police and confirms the determination to consistently punish perpetrators of human trafficking and other serious criminal activities committed against minors,” added.
In August 2024, the police charged a man from Medzilaboriec with the crime of human trafficking. According to the findings of the police in the period from July to August at the main railway station in Humenno under the threat of violence and killing, he repeatedly forced a minor to orally satisfy several men.
