OAB alleges difficulties in monitoring searches and charges PF – 01/30/2026 – Panel

The Federal Council of the (Brazilian Bar Association) sent, this Friday (30), a letter mentioning difficulties for representatives of the entity to monitor search and seizure actions involving lawyers and offices.

In the document, addressed to the general director of the PF, Andrei Rodrigues, the OAB argues that it received reports about representatives who were unable to follow steps taken by the corporation.

The text reinforces that the presence of lawyers of the bar in operations is provided for by law “for the purpose of ensuring the inviolability of documents, data, communications and instruments related to clients and facts outside the investigation”.

The OAB also demands an institutional meeting with the director of the PF to “continue the respectful and collaborative dialogue” on the topic.

A report by Uncac (UN Convention against Corruption), last year, called on Brazil to implement mechanisms against advocacy.
