The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, stated this Saturday (31) that US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Europe had fueled tensions in the recent protests that took over the country and “provoked” the population.
According to Reuters sources, Trump has been evaluating options for military attacks on Iranian leaders to encourage protests in the country. Still, Israeli and Arab officials say air power alone would not topple the theocratic regime.
At least two US sources familiar with the discussions reported that Trump wanted to create conditions for “regime change” following the crackdown that crushed a national protest movement earlier this month, killing thousands of people.
