Corinthians does not rule out the return of left-back Fabrizio Angileri, who remains free on the market after the end of his contract with the Black and Whites. However, as at first, the board and player did not reach an agreement to extend the contract, the tone is cautious.
The obstacle is financial. Timão understands that the request presented by the Argentine to extend the contract exceeds the established limit, but does not consider the athlete as “a card out of the deck”.
Angileri maintains affection for him and remains in contact with employees, former teammates and members of the football department. Furthermore, as he has not yet found a new club, he continues to carry out physical activities on his own to maintain his conditioning.
Internally, he assesses that, given this scenario, he may receive a new proposal from the athlete’s staff in the coming days and, who knows, seal the full-back’s return.
Angileri was used extensively by coach Dorival Júnior in 2025, including playing in some matches as a defender on the left side. In total, he played 42 games (26 as a starter) and contributed two assists.
Currently, the left back has Matheus Bidu as its starter, with Hugo as an option on the bench. The club monitors other alternatives for the sector, but does not treat the position as a priority at this time.
Timão returns to the field this Sunday (1st), against Flamengo, in the Super Cup. The match will be played from 4pm, at the Mané Garrincha stadium, in Brasília.
