Corinthians and Flamengo will compete in the first Brazilian football final of the 2026 season this Sunday afternoon (1st). Timão’s goalkeeper, Hugo Souza engineered the Supercopa Rei decision.
Decisive in the titles of and of in 2025, Hugo Souza wants to start 2026 with another cup for Corinthians. The goalkeeper, however, praised Flamengo and believes that the match will be decided in the “details”.
“Very happy to be competing in such an important decision with this shirt and I hope we can have the same outcome as the others. We have become a very tough team when these moments come. I’m sure everyone will do their best, everyone will do what we are training and the expectation is the best possible for us to enter the field”
“We know the quality of the opponent, Flamengo has a very qualified team. We have to understand the strengths and weaknesses, both theirs and ours, and I think it will be a game of details. God willing, we will come out with the victory and with this important title.”
The Supercopa Rei decision is scheduled for 4pm (Brasília time), at the Mané Garrincha Stadium, in Brasília. Whoever wins guarantees the first major Brazilian football title of the 2026 season.
