The defense of , a lobbyist suspected of intermediating the (Superior Court of Justice), intends to question his client’s arrest at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
He was arrested for the first time in November 2024 and transferred to house arrest by order of the (Supreme Federal Court) in July last year, after having lost 30 kg in a federal prison.
The lobbyist suffers from complications related to diabetes and has difficulty absorbing nutrients due to bariatric surgery performed in 2020.
In November, however, he stated that he voluntarily starved himself to be transferred to his home.
Since then, Andreson’s lawyer, Eugênio Pacelli, asked Zanin to return to his home, but the minister refused. The defense presented appeals that should be judged by the First Panel in February. Pacelli intends to go to court if the ministers decide to uphold Zanin’s decision.
“Andreson’s defense remains without access to a report that would have been prepared by the PF and responsible for revoking the house arrest and continues to await the judgment of his appeals at the STF”, says Pacelli.
Andreson is the , which investigates suspicions of sales and leakage of decisions both by employees of STJ ministers’ offices and by state court magistrates.
