The Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado stated this Sunday who does not believe that his life will be in danger if he returns to Venezuelathanks to the “pressure” that the United States exerts on the interim government headed by Delcy Rodríguez.

“Things are changing very quickly in Venezuela. If they had caught me before I left, I would probably have been disappeared or worse.“, declared the winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize in an interview with CBS.

“At this moment, noor I think they dare to kill me because of the presence, pressure and actions of the United States“added Machado, who is currently exiled in Washington, although she has expressed her desire to return to her country as soon as possible.

Donald Trump

The opposition leader indicated that she does not know ““How many possibilities would you have” to move freely within Venezuelan territory?but assured that Chavismo “would be very afraid” of attacking her life, since “the regime knows the connection” that she maintains with the Government of Donald Trump.

On Saturday, when asked if Machado should be able to return to Venezuela, Trump suggested that he could “bring together” Chavismo and the opposition to bring positions closer together.

We have to do something with this. Maybe get the parties together and do something. “She (Machado) is a very good person and, at the same time, the current leadership (Delcy Rodríguez) is doing a very good job,” he stated.
