“Don’t be these bosses.” After destruction in Leiria, Rita Ferro Rodrigues exposes message and regrets “indifference”

Storm Kristin invaded Portugal in the early hours of last Wednesday, January 28, and with it brought winds in excess of 140 km per hour, which crossed the central region and left a trail of destruction never seen before, especially in the city of Leiria.

In recent days, many people have been helping the population in the most affected areas and, through social media, many public figures have also been spreading messages asking for help that reach them.

In addition to being on the ground helping, Rita Ferro Rodrigues became aware of some “indifference” on the part of the employers of those affected and decided to expose an exchange of messages that reached her, in which it is possible to see the conversation between a boss and an employee.

“One of the things that really impressed me yesterday, in Leiria, was exactly this. People who were left without a roof, without light, without electricity, without water, without food and without the solidarity of their employers – and who told me that they are being pressured to go to work”he began by writing in the caption of the post he made.

The presenter was ‘shocked’ by this type of “harassment” and left an important appeal, not only to bosses but also to employees.

“An obscene and inhumane indifference. Don’t be these bosses. And what’s more, report these bosses, if they are being the target of this type of harassment. Everything can’t go. It can’t. Most examplesI believe, are the exact opposite of this. There are a lot of good and supportive people. Shame on those who are not”realized.

On a final note, Rita Ferro Rodrigues highlighted that the objective of her post is just to report what is happening to several people: “(…) People don’t make complaints public because they are afraid of losing their jobs. I don’t dare judge them”he further considered.
