Last Monday, Sporting de Braga’s trip to AVS’s ground was not only marked by the impressive 0-4 defeat imposed by the Minho team, but also by an episode starring João Moutinho that is thrilling social media.
It all happened after the final whistle of the match counting for the 20th round of the I League. As usual, the stands at Vila das Aves were filled with young fans eager to remember their idols. João Moutinho, one of the most charismatic figures in the Braga squad, was the target of all the attention. However, what should have been a moment of celebration began with a little drama: when offering his match shirt to a fan, the midfielder ended up leaving a child, who was waiting for the same gesture, in tears.
Faced with the young fan’s despair at seeing his favorite player handing over the “gift” to someone else, Moutinho could not remain indifferent. In a gesture of sensitivity, the number eight of the “Guerreiros do Minho” made a point of remedying the situation. Without hesitation, he headed to the changing rooms and returned shortly afterwards with a new shirt in his hands, personally handing it to the little fan who, in a few seconds, went from crying deeply to contagiously happy.
