Crane operator seriously injured after being thrown by the wind in Porto de Mós

The 40-year-old man was thrown by the strong wind, hitting a wall violently.

A man was seriously injured in a work accident in the municipality of Porto de Mós, when the strong wind threw him against a wall, a source from the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) told the Lusa agency.

According to the GNR Leiria Territorial Command, the operator, aged 40, was “in a crane with a basket”, with appropriate personal protective equipment, in a company in Calvaria de Cima.

“With the strong wind, it was thrown, hitting a wall violently”said the same source.

The worker, considered seriously injured, was transported to Santo André Hospital, in Leiria.
