The Norwegian police announced on Thursdaythat she started an investigation on suspicion of of “serious corruption” against former Prime Minister Thorbjörn Jagland in connection with his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. TASR writes about it based on a report by the AFP agency.
Jagland was Prime Minister of Norway from 1996 to 1997 and later Secretary General of the Council of Europe from 2009 to 2019. In the period from January 2009 to March 2015, he also chaired the committee that selects the laureate Nobel Peace Prize.
Police “launched an investigation targeting… Thorbjörn Jagland on suspicion of serious corruption,” said the Norwegian National Authority for the Investigation of Economic and Environmental Crime.
