Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), gave 15 days for the government of Rio de Janeiro to send the Federal Police (PF) the cameras and images captured during Operation Containmentwhich took place in October last year in the Penha and Alemão complexes. The decision was signed on Wednesday (4).

According to the decision, equipment and images must undergo PF expertise. The corporation must present reports of the work carried out.

The minister’s decision was taken in the process known as ADPF das Favelas – Arguição de Descumprimento de Preceito Fundamental (ADPF) No. 635. In the action, the Court has already determined several measures to reduce lethality during operations in communities in Rio de Janeiro.
