A woman was arrested red-handed, this Monday (2), after running over two people and almost hitting a man in a wheelchair on Avenida Aimará, in Embu das Artes, in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo.
According to police information, the woman was arrested for culpable bodily harm while driving a motor vehicle, drunk driving and driving a vehicle without a license.
Images obtained by Itatiaia and CNN Brasil show the moment of confusion. In a recording prior to the accident, the woman appears arguing with the physically disabled man on the sidewalk of a bar. In another video, it is possible to see the driver braking the vehicle and, even so, .
People come to surround the car, hit the car and try to help the victims. In the background, a person shouts: “the girl is under the car”.

According to the police report, the driver was driving the vehicle after leaving the bar when she lost control of the steering wheel, invaded the sidewalk and ran over young people who were there. Witnesses reported that the driver had a strong ethyl odor and excited behavior.
One of the victims suffered a fracture and was rescued by Samu, being taken to the Central Hospital, where he underwent a surgical procedure. Another person had minor injuries. There is also information about a third victim, who left the scene before the police arrived.
According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the driver did not have a National Driving License (CNH) or permission to drive. The vehicle was seized and sent for technical examination.
The woman was taken to the police station and underwent a clinical examination. She refused to take the alcohol test.
The case was registered at the Embu das Artes Police Station and remains under investigation by the Civil Police.
