A man who tried to cross the border crossing in Vyšné Nemeck this week with ammunition also ended up in a police detention cell. In this context, the investigator started a criminal prosecution in the matter of the crime of illegal arming and arms trafficking. The Košice regional police informs about it on the social network.
“A foreign citizen tried to cross the border as a driver of a delivery vehicle from the territory of the Slovak Republic, who had a large amount of ammunition in the luggage compartment without the appropriate permit,” he clarifies, adding that thanks to the mutual cooperation of the financial administration (FS) and the police, they restricted the man’s personal freedom.
Košice regional police spokeswoman Jana Illésová confirmed for TASR that this is a case that was reported by FS in recent days. According to published information, customs officers found 250 shotgun shells during the inspection.
